Today, we are celebrating Natura 2000 Network Day
21/05/2023

Natura 2000 Day on May 21st is an invitation for everyone to discover the natural treasures harbored by the Natura 2000 network, and to become aware of the conservation efforts and the benefits that protected nature offers to each of us and our planet. Since its first celebration on May 21st, 1992, this day commemorates the approval of the European "Habitats" directive and the LIFE program.
The vital importance of Natura 2000 cannot be underestimated. By protecting fragile ecosystems, we preserve biodiversity and ensure essential ecosystem services such as air and water purification, climate regulation, crop pollination, and much more.
On this exceptional day, we take pride in the achievements already accomplished. Through conservation measures and appropriate management, we protect endangered species and create opportunities for scientific research and environmental education.
Let's continue working together for a sustainable future where nature thrives, and future generations can admire the beauty and richness of our natural world.
