Today is World Wildlife Day!
03/03/2023
Today, 3 March, is World Wildlife Day. This day, established by the UN, is celebrated to raise awareness of the benefits of wildlife on the planet. The primary goal of this annual event is to draw attention to the urgent need to address environmental issues and the rapid decline of species due to human activity.
Wildlife plays a crucial role in maintaining the balance of our planet's ecosystem, particularly in forest environments. However, deforestation is one of the main drivers of climate change and biodiversity loss.
In response to this critical issue, Life Nieblas has taken up the challenge of restoring forest habitats in areas that have been destroyed by wildfires. This project aims to plant over 20,000 trees in Gran Canaria and 4,000 in Portugal. Different reforestation techniques are being compared in order to share all the data and develop optimal and environmentally friendly reforestation practices in the future.
