Video & Audio

Throughout the development of the actions of our project we have made some images to assess the monitoring. Select one of the galleries to see its content:

  • Assembling and instalation of an innovative fog collector i_FWC - SUB ENG

Our field team explains how to assemble and install these innovative fog collectors (i_FWC) in the field. Such colelctors have been develoepd by Life Nieblas.

  • Monitoring Meeting 2023

Presentation of the monitoring meeting, which took place from March 16 to 17 in Gran Canaria. This video explains the objectives of this event, the successes achieved by the project as well as the integration of Life Nieblas in the priorities of the European Union.

  • How to build your own tunnel
  • Lab testing on the wind tunnel

An ICIA engineer showing how the wind tunnel used to develop the i-FWC works.

  • Wind Tunnel Construction

How our partners from ICIA and ULL have designed and built a wind tunnel for lab testing phase of the Innovative Fog water collector (i-FWC)

  • Timelapse - Weather station installation

⏱️Weather station timelapse 📡🛰️Life Nieblas' team has installed a weather station through which weather patterns are logged and analysed. ✅Results derived from weather data will help us understand how fog behaves in this area and also identify weather patterns and extreme conditions events. Such parameters include: 🧭Wind speed & direction 👁️Visibility 🌧️Rain accumulation ☀️Radiation index 💧Dew point 🌦️Relative humidity 📊Monitoring in-situ will be highly valuable when presentating results and drawing conclusions.

  • Spontaneous Vegetation Monitoring

Spontaneous vegetation development will allow us to undertand natural passive development at our restoration site. Here you will learn how to undertake this ecological survey.

  • Soil Sampling Methodology

Soil smapling will tell us about characterists found in a particular area in terms physical conditions, fertility (nutrient) status, and chemical properties that affect their suitability as plant growing media. Here you will learn a simple method on how to take soil samples.

  • Root Development

Root development monitoring will shade some light into our reforestations development underground. This also allows us to find out more about the impact that different soil profiles may have on particular forests. Here you will learn how to evaluate root systems growth.

  • Reforestation Monitoring Methodology

Reforestation monitoring is crucial to ensure that our reforested areas have a healthy development. This also allows us to find out more about the impact that different reforestation methodologies have on particular forests. Here you will learn how to evaluate plant growth.

  • Cocoon implementation methodology

In this video, we explain step by step how to install a Cocoon developed by LIFE The Green Link . This videos is part of Life Nieblas ( action A4 in regards to dissemination and training for staff and technicians.

  • Antonio introduces the meteorological station

Finishing off with this ITC series, we talked with our colleague Antonio. He is in charge of the meteorological data logging and analyses which will help us to better understand how the fog behaves in our reforestation area. Our meteo station gathers data every ten minutes keeping us updated in almost a live stream. Furthermore, this data will be made available for the general public soon, so everyone interested in meteorology will be able to access the database and make their own analyses.
